WELCOME TO

Hello and welcome to this un-official Virgin Media information site.

This site is not connected with Virgin Media in any way, shape or form and is entirely independent.

Virgin Media was formed in February 2007 when NTL (who, by this time already owned the ADSL 'virgin.net' service) merged with Telewest and then also purchased Virgin Mobile.

If you are in an ex-Telewest area and are still subscribed to their analogue TV service, you can get some relevant information from this page.
If you are in an area that can't get cable services, you should still be able to get ADSL broadband and Freeview TV from Virgin Media. Click here.

SITE & SERVICE CHANGES / UPDATES:

November 2008: THEY'RE BACK! (And about time too!)
The Sky basics channels, including Sky1 and Sky News, are back on Virgin Media.

For full channels guide and programme listings for the first couple of days, please go to the new Sky page by clicking here.

Sept. 08: I have taken the decision to remove all prices from this site. Due to the way that VM market their products, they rarely charge the full prices as previously shown on this site; making their inclusion irrelevent and confusing.

June 2008: APOLOGY: I'm sorry that some of the information on this site is now somewhat out of date. That's because "life" has got in the way. However, I am working on it!

Editorial: There's a new version of the V+ Box due this later this year so now'd the time to sign my petition to get the Tivo Operating System onto this upgraded DVR.

APRIL 2008
Virgin Media have now started officially supporting Wireless networks, but only if you get your kit from them. For full details, see the updated "internet" page, here.

There are some pricing changes taking effect from June 2008. For details click here.

MAY 2008
Fancy yourself as a film-maker? Virgin Media today announced the launch of Virgin Media Shorts, the first ever short film competition to run across four screens – TV, cinema, mobile and computer.

Virgin Media Shorts, in association with FilmFlex, aims to discover the best up and coming British film talent. The competition will offer maximum exposure for the short-listed films, with the chance to win up to £30,000 and work with Virgin Media and the UK Film Council to make their next short film, as well as the winning film being shown later this year on Virgin 1 – currently available to 22 million homes in the UK. See the news page for full details.
